Raising Money to Buy New Equipment for Your Music Room!

Hello, Brodnicki Friends!

We are hoping to raise some money to purchase new materials to use in our classroom, and we could use your help!

Last week, I signed up with DonorsChoose.org and applied for a grant to get new picture books, a parachute, a stretchy band and a new document camera.  If you would like to contribute to that fund, please go here:

We only need $284 more for the project to take flight.  AND, if you contribute by tomorrow night, Wednesday, October 28th, you can use the code SPARK to have DonorsChoose.org use their matching funds, too!

Can only contribute $10?  That's fine!  Use SPARK in the Promo Code box, and it turns into $20 for our classroom!  Every little bit helps!

Know someone else who can help?  Please share the link above.

Thank you!

Sakura (Cherry Blossoms) a Japanese Folk Song

Cherry tree!  Cherry tree!
Cherry blossoms everywhere!

These are cherry blossoms, which bloom in the spring.

Sixth grade is singing a song about Cherry Blossoms for our concert (Thursday, November 5th at 6:30 p.m.).  Here are the English words and the phonetic pronunciation of the Japanese words:

Cherry tree, cherry tree!  Cherry blossoms everywhere.
Far as any eye can see.  Mist and beauty fill the air.
Lovely blossoms scent the breeze.
Come with me, come with me!  Let us go and see!

Sakura, sakura!  Ya yo i no so ra wa.
Mi watasu kagiri. Kasu mika kumoka.
Nio izo izuru.
Iza ya, iza ya!  Mi ni yu ka N. (hum the "n")

4th Grade Recorder Orders

Attention 4th Graders!  You have the option of buying a new, translucent recorder this year!  They come in 4 colors--purple, blue, green & red.

Order forms can be found in the music room, and the orders are due by Wednesday, October 28th.  They are $6 each.

We will start playing soon, so you must either have your 3rd grade recorder (white Yamaha) or a new one.  You may purchase more than one, if you like!  :)
